The 3M 7000120719 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for detail surface work on metal parts. It uses an aluminum oxide (AO) grain bonded with resin to a scrim-reinforced nonwoven open web backing. The belt handles blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, flat finishing, and attaining straight-line brushed or stainless steel finishes. At 24 inches long and 3 inches wide, it fits standard belt finishing machines used by metal fabricators, welders, and finishing technicians who require consistent, repeatable surface conditioning results.
This belt is suited for production and detail finishing applications on a variety of metal substrates, including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. Typical use cases include removing grind lines, mill marks, and surface imperfections, setting grain patterns, and deburring edges on flat or contoured workpieces. The open web construction also makes it effective in robotic and automated finishing cells where conformability to complex part geometries is required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement belt for standard 24-inch by 3-inch belt finishing and surface conditioning machines used in metal fabrication and finishing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt finishing equipment. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before each use and do not exceed the machine's rated operating speed.
