The 3M 7000120700 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail finishing work on metals and other surfaces. Built on a nonwoven open web construction with a resin bond and scrim backing, this belt measures 18 inches in length and 3/4 inch in width. It is engineered to perform blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, flat finishing, and straightline-brushed finishing tasks. The aluminum oxide abrasive mineral cuts consistently while the open web structure reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing for extended operating time without sacrificing surface conditioning results. Metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians are the primary installers of this product.
This belt is suited for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum. It is well matched to detail work in both manual and robotic processing environments. The conformable nonwoven construction allows the abrasive to maintain contact with complex-shaped parts, contoured surfaces, and edges. Typical applications include setting the grain on stainless steel panels, blending weld lines, removing grind marks and mill marks, and deburring edges on fabricated components. The reinforced backing provides the flexibility needed for tight corners and irregular geometries.
Designed for use on belt finishing and surface conditioning machines that accept 18 inch by 3/4 inch abrasive belts. Suitable for metal finishing applications including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum substrates.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworking or finishing technician familiar with belt finishing equipment. Before changing belts, power down the machine completely and allow all moving parts to come to a full stop. Verify the belt tracking direction arrow aligns with the machine drive direction before operating. Follow all manufacturer guidelines for belt tensioning and guard replacement prior to startup.
