The 3M 7000120661 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail finishing work on metal surfaces. Built with a nonwoven open web construction and reinforced backing, this belt handles blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, and straight-line brushed finishes. The aluminum oxide abrasive grain is bonded with resin and supported by a scrim backing, delivering consistent cut and finish across extended use. At 24 inches long and 1/4 inch wide, it fits narrow-contact belt tools used in metalworking and fabrication shops. Reduced loading and controlled heat build-up allow longer operating cycles without degrading surface quality.
This belt is suited for residential fabrication shops, commercial metalworking operations, and industrial finishing lines. Typical applications include blending weld seams, setting grain on stainless steel, removing grind lines and mill marks, deburring edges, and achieving fine finishes on contoured or flat metal parts. The conformable nonwoven construction keeps the abrasive in contact with complex part geometries, making it well-suited for robotic processing as well as hand-guided belt finishing equipment.
Designed for use on narrow-contact belt finishing tools that accept a 24-inch by 1/4-inch belt. Suitable for finishing stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metal surfaces where surface conditioning or blending is required.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified metalworking technician or abrasives operator. Always power down and de-energize the belt finishing tool before mounting or removing the belt. Verify the tool spindle speed rating does not exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the belt packaging. Inspect the belt for tears, fraying, or splice damage before each use and discard any belt showing signs of deterioration.
