The 3M 7000120604 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for demanding metalworking and finishing applications. Built on a nonwoven open web construction with silicon carbide abrasive, this belt handles a wide range of surface work including blending, deburring, fine finishing, and stainless steel finishing. The reinforced backing and conformable web keep the abrasive in consistent contact with irregular and complex part geometries. At 132 inches long and 2 inches wide, it fits standard belt finishing machines used in production and fabrication shops. Licensed trades and metal fabricators rely on this belt for repeatable, controlled surface results.
This belt is suited for detail work on a variety of metals in both production and job-shop environments. Common applications include blending weld lines, deburring cut edges, contour finishing, setting the grain on stainless steel, and attaining straightline-brushed finishes. The open web structure reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing extended run times without sacrificing surface conditioning consistency. It is well matched to robotic processing setups as well as manual belt finishing operations.
Designed for use on standard belt finishing machines that accept a 132-inch by 2-inch belt. Suitable for surface conditioning operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Install the belt in the direction indicated by the arrow on the backing, if present, to ensure proper tracking and abrasive performance. Power down and lock out the belt finishing machine before changing belts. Confirm belt tension and tracking adjustment before resuming operation. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during belt changes and operation.
