The 3M 7000120576 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt designed for a wide range of metal finishing tasks performed by fabricators, welders, and industrial maintenance technicians. Built on a reinforced scrim backing with a nonwoven open-web construction, this belt uses aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive bonded with resin to deliver consistent surface conditioning results. The belt measures 72 inches in length and 2 inches in width, making it suited for use on standard belt-finishing machines. Its open-web structure reduces heat build-up and loading, extending working life and maintaining finish quality across longer run cycles.
This belt is intended for metalworking applications including blending, deburring, contour finishing, flat finishing, stainless steel finishing, and producing straightline-brushed finishes. It performs well on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum. The conformable nonwoven construction allows the abrasive to maintain contact with complex-shaped workpieces, making it appropriate for both manual finishing operations and robotic processing environments. Typical installations include fabrication shops, aerospace maintenance facilities, and industrial production lines where controlled, repeatable surface finishes are required.
Designed for use on standard belt-finishing and file-belt machines accepting a 72-inch by 2-inch belt. Suitable for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum.
Installation and belt changes should be performed by qualified operators following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and de-energize the belt finishing machine completely before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tension and tracking per the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Operators should wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts.
