The 3M 7000120558 is a Scotch-Brite SC-DH Surface Conditioning Disc designed for cleaning, blending, deburring, and finishing applications across a range of materials. At 3 inches in diameter, this non-woven disc mounts to right-angle grinders via a hook-and-loop attachment system, making disc changes fast during multi-step finishing work. The open-web, non-woven fiber construction conforms to irregular and contoured surfaces without undercutting or damaging the base material. This disc is used in light to medium surface conditioning tasks on flat, curved, and irregular workpiece profiles. The conformable construction makes it effective on weld zones, edges, and contoured geometry where rigid abrasive discs would remove too much material. It is appropriate for both shop-floor fabrication environments and field service applications where a right-angle grinder is the primary tool. The hook-and-loop mount allows rapid swaps between grades during multi-step finishing sequences, reducing downtime between passes.

Installation is performed by pressing the disc firmly onto a compatible hook-and-loop backup pad mounted to a right-angle grinder. Ensure the grinder is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the disc. Inspect the backup pad hooks for wear before each use, as a degraded pad reduces disc retention during operation. Always operate at or below the maximum RPM rating of the disc and wear appropriate eye and face protection.
