The 3M 7000120257 Hookit 360L Film Disc is a coated abrasive disc designed for fine sanding and finishing in high-production environments. It uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded to a durable film backing, delivering consistent material removal on plastics, gel coats, polyurethane solid surfaces, fiberglass, and composites. The open coat construction reduces loading and maintains cutting efficiency throughout the life of the disc. At P600 grit, this disc is suited for final finishing passes where a close-tolerance, uniform surface is required. Rated to 10,000 rpm, it handles the demands of pneumatic and electric random orbital sanders used in professional finishing work.
This disc is intended for trade and production use in automotive, marine, and composite fabrication environments. It performs well on gel coats, fiberglass laminates, polyurethane solid surfaces, and plastic substrates where fine finishing is critical. The 6 inch diameter fits standard Hookit-compatible backing plates used with random orbital and disc sanders common in body shops, boatyards, and composite finishing operations. The hook-and-loop attachment system allows quick disc changes and permits reuse of the disc when conditions allow, supporting efficiency in high-volume finishing workflows.
Designed for use with Hookit-compatible 6 inch backing plates on random orbital and disc sanders rated to 10,000 rpm or higher.
Inspect the backing plate for damage or contamination before attaching the disc, as debris on the hook surface reduces holding strength and can cause disc separation during use. Confirm the sander is rated at or above the disc speed before operation. Disconnect or power down the tool before mounting or removing the disc. Follow applicable workplace safety requirements for respiratory protection when sanding composites, gel coats, or polyurethane materials.
