The 3M 7000120211 is a coated abrasive belt designed for stock removal and metal finishing in industrial and fabrication environments. It uses a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide bonded with a durable resin system to a heavyweight polyester cloth backing. At 60 inches long and 37 inches wide, this belt is built for high-pressure belt grinding applications. The P150 grit rating positions it for intermediate finishing work, cutting faster and lasting longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. Licensed tradespeople and production grinders working on metal surfaces will find the heat-resistant construction especially useful on stainless steel and other heat-sensitive alloys.
This belt is suited for industrial metal finishing, weld blending, and surface preparation on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The heavyweight polyester backing handles aggressive contact-wheel and platen applications. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the cut zone, which is a direct benefit when working stainless steel or other metals prone to heat discoloration or work hardening. The belt can be run dry or with a compatible liquid lubricant, giving operators flexibility across different grinding setups.
Designed as a replacement or production abrasive belt for industrial belt grinders and finishing machines that accept 60-inch by 37-inch wide belts. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal finishing, weld blending, and surface preparation.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by qualified personnel following the belt grinder manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the belt for tears, edge damage, or delamination before each use and do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the machine. When using lubricant, verify the lubricant is compatible with the belt bond system and the workpiece material.
