The 3M 7000119587 is a coated abrasive disc in the Hookita 236U series, designed for high-production sanding operations across a wide range of surfaces. Built on a C-weight paper backing with a premium aluminum oxide mineral, this disc delivers aggressive cut and extended service life. The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating minimize disc loading, keeping the surface cutting longer before it needs to be swapped out. At 6 inches in diameter and rated to 12,000 RPM, it attaches via the Hookita hook-and-loop style system, making disc changes fast without tools. Suited for finishing work on paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites including fiberglass.
This disc is a practical choice for industrial sanding operations where throughput and consistency matter. At P400 grit, it handles fine finishing and surface prep tasks where a smooth, refined surface is the goal. The Hookita attachment system allows the disc to be removed, inspected, and reattached, extending usable life when conditions allow. Typical applications include body shop finishing, composite surface prep, wood final sanding, and light metal finishing in production or jobsite environments. Installed and used by automotive technicians, woodworkers, and general fabricators.
Designed for use with Hookita-compatible random orbital and disc sanders that accept 6-inch hook-and-loop abrasive discs.
This disc is installed by pressing the Hookita backing firmly onto a compatible hook-and-loop backing pad. Ensure the sander is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the disc. Confirm the sander's maximum RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc speed rating before operation. Inspect the disc and backing pad for wear before each use and replace if the abrasive surface is loaded or the attachment interface is degraded.
