The 3M 7000119516 is a Cubitron II coated abrasive belt using 984F grain technology on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing. It is built for medium to high pressure grinding and finishing applications in metal fabrication and industrial settings. The belt features 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, which continuously fractures to expose sharp cutting points, maintaining fast cut rates throughout the belt's life. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat generation at the workpiece surface, helping to minimize discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracking on sensitive alloys. Licensed HVAC fabricators, metal fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users of this consumable abrasive product.
This belt is designed for use on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. It performs well in robotic grinding systems and pressure-assisted finishing equipment where consistent cut rate and long belt life reduce changeover frequency and production downtime. At 15.5 inches long and 3.5 inches wide, it fits standard belt grinders and finishing machines configured for that belt size. The 984F grade is particularly suited to high-demand production environments where heat management and part quality on exotic alloys are critical.
Designed for use on belt grinders and finishing machines that accept a 15.5 x 3.5 inch abrasive belt, including robotic and pressure-assisted grinding systems used in metal fabrication and industrial maintenance applications.
This abrasive belt is installed and changed by metal fabrication technicians or maintenance personnel. Always power down and lock out the grinding machine before changing belts, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt and machine guards before each use.
