The 3M 7000119515 is the Cubitron II 984F coated abrasive belt, built for demanding metal grinding applications in industrial and fabrication environments. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing to deliver fast, consistent stock removal with extended belt life. The 80-grit grade and grinding-aid formulation make this belt well suited for medium to high pressure grinding on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. Licensed fabricators, weld grinding operators, and robotic grinding cell technicians are the primary installers and users of this belt.
This belt is designed for use in pressure-assisted and robotic grinding applications where heat management and consistent cut rate are critical. The 18-inch length and 1/2-inch width fit narrow contact-wheel and file-belt grinder configurations commonly used in aerospace, medical device, and heavy fabrication shops. The Precision-Shaped Grain continuously fractures to expose sharp cutting points, reducing the heat buildup that causes discoloration and oxidation on stainless and high-alloy workpieces. Its extended service life reduces downtime and changeout frequency in high-volume production environments.
Designed for use on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys in robotic and pressure-assisted grinding applications requiring an 18-inch by 1/2-inch coated abrasive belt.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified grinding cell operators or fabrication technicians following the equipment manufacturer's belt-tracking and tensioning procedures. Power down and de-energize the grinder completely before changing belts. Verify belt travel direction arrow aligns with the machine drive direction before starting the unit. Follow applicable workplace safety and PPE requirements when operating abrasive grinding equipment.
