The 3M 7000119511 is a coated abrasive belt from the Cubitron II 984F line, engineered for aggressive material removal on demanding metals. Built on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing, it uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology — microscopic triangular grains that continuously fracture into sharp cutting points rather than dulling over time. At 60 grit and measuring 18 inches in length by 0.5 inches in width, this belt is sized for narrow-contact applications such as robotic grinding, pressure-assisted finishing, and power-tool belt grinding. Licensed metalworking shops and fabrication technicians are the primary installers and end users.
This belt is designed for medium to high pressure grinding operations on stainless steel, exotic alloys, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and carbon steel. The grinding aid built into the abrasive layer helps manage heat generation, which is critical when working on heat-sensitive metals like stainless steel and nickel-based superalloys where discoloration and stress cracking are a concern. It is well suited to both manual pressure-assisted grinders and robotic belt grinding systems in production fabrication environments.
Designed for medium to high pressure belt grinding applications on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. Fits belt grinders accepting an 18-inch by 0.5-inch abrasive belt.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified shop personnel following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Always power down and de-energize the belt grinder before changing belts, and confirm belt travel direction matches the arrow marked on the belt backing before running. Inspect the contact wheel, platen, and tracking system for wear before mounting a new belt. Use appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during belt changes and grinding operations.
