The 3M 7000119475 is a coated abrasive flap disc engineered for high-pressure metalworking applications where speed and finish quality are both required. Built on a Type 29 conical profile, this 7-inch disc uses alumina zirconia mineral bonded to heavyweight polyester-backed flaps. The alumina zirconia grain delivers greater cutting power than standard aluminum oxide across all metal types, and a built-in grinding aid extends that performance under sustained pressure. At 60 grit, the disc is suited for aggressive stock removal while simultaneously blending the work surface. Licensed tradespeople working in fabrication, welding, and structural metalwork are the primary installers and users of this product.
This disc is designed for demanding metalworking tasks including weld removal, beveling, and sharp-edge work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The flap construction allows grinding and blending to occur in a single pass, reducing the number of tool changes and abrasive products needed on the job. The quick-change attachment system allows fast disc swaps without additional hardware, making it practical in high-production environments. The Type 29 angle-grinder profile directs cutting pressure toward the outer edge of the disc for efficient material removal on flat and contoured surfaces.
Designed for use with angle grinders and right-angle disc grinders that accept 7-inch quick-change flap discs with a Type 29 mounting configuration.
Mounting and disc changes should be performed by a qualified operator following the grinder manufacturer's guard and speed rating requirements. Confirm that the grinder's maximum RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc's rated speed before mounting. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before installing or removing the disc. Always use the appropriate guard for flap disc operation and wear eye and face protection during use.
