The 3M 7000119441 is a coated abrasive belt designed for demanding grinding, blending, and finishing applications across metal fabrication, welding prep, and general industrial use. This belt measures 20.5 inches long by 0.75 inches wide and runs a 120-grit alumina zirconia abrasive grain bonded to a heavyweight, water-resistant polyester cloth backing. Alumina zirconia cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide, making it well suited for high-pressure belt grinding and edge work. The backing resists moisture and flex fatigue, supporting consistent performance in production environments where belts see sustained use.
This belt is used in light industrial and trade settings for surface preparation, weld blending, and contour finishing on metal substrates. Its cool-running characteristics make it a practical choice for heat-sensitive metals such as aluminum and stainless steel. Typical applications include fabrication shops, HVAC duct work finishing, plumbing copper prep, and general metalworking where a narrow belt tool is in use. The 120-grit grade positions it for intermediate stock removal and surface conditioning rather than coarse shaping or final polishing.
Designed for use on narrow belt grinders and abrasive belt tools accepting a 20.5-inch by 0.75-inch belt. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Belt installation should be performed with the tool unplugged or the power source locked out. Confirm belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use, as a damaged belt can fail under load. Follow applicable ANSI abrasive product safety standards when operating belt grinding equipment.
