The 3M 7000119423 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc designed for surface preparation, finishing, and material removal on a wide range of substrates. Built on a flexible polyester film backing, this disc runs cooler and conforms better to contoured surfaces than paper-backed alternatives. The aluminum oxide abrasive grain is rated fine grade at 120 grit, making it well suited for intermediate sanding passes where a smooth, consistent scratch pattern is required before final finishing. Each pack contains 125 discs at 5 inches in diameter. The disc color is gold. No vacuum holes are included in this configuration. Finishing technicians, auto body professionals, and fabricators working with metal, composites, or wood will find this disc a reliable production-grade consumable.
This disc is sized for 5-inch random orbital sanders and is part of the 3M 255L series. It is intended for use in production and refinishing environments where consistent cut rate and surface finish quality are priorities. The PSA mount eliminates the need for hook-and-loop backup pads, allowing direct adhesive attachment to compatible flat or low-profile backup pads. Typical applications include metal deburring, paint featheredging, gelcoat prep, and wood finish sanding in both shop and field settings.
Designed for use with random orbital sanders accepting 5-inch PSA backup pads. No vacuum hole configuration; not compatible with dust-extraction backup pads that require through-holes.
Ensure the backup pad surface is clean and free of debris before applying the PSA disc to achieve full adhesive contact. Power down and unplug the sander before mounting or removing discs. Apply firm, even pressure across the disc face when pressing onto the backup pad to prevent edge lifting during operation. Discard discs that show loading, grain pullout, or backing delamination.
