The 3M 7000119217 is a coated abrasive disc engineered for medium to high pressure grinding applications where precision and durability are critical. Built on the Cubitron II 984F platform with 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, it cuts faster and cooler than conventional abrasives, making it well suited for demanding materials like stainless steel, cobalt chrome, and nickel alloys. At 4 inches in diameter with a 36 grit rating, this disc delivers aggressive stock removal in a compact form factor. A grinding aid is incorporated into the disc construction to reduce heat buildup, protecting heat-sensitive base materials during extended use. Licensed trade fabricators and weld finishers are the primary installers of this product.
This disc is designed for use in fabrication shops, aerospace component finishing, and industrial grinding environments where smaller-diameter tooling is required for tight or contoured work areas. It attaches via the Roloc quick-change system, allowing fast swaps between grit grades or applications without tools. The 2-ply backing construction adds durability specifically for edge grinding work on stainless steel, cobalt chrome alloys, and nickel-based superalloys where surface integrity and heat management are priorities.
Designed for use with Roloc-compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders accepting 4 inch quick-change discs. Suited for grinding stainless steel, cobalt chrome, and nickel alloy workpieces in medium to high pressure applications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified metal fabricators or grinding technicians familiar with abrasive disc safety practices. Ensure the grinder is rated for the disc diameter and that all guards are in place before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before mounting and do not exceed the maximum RPM rating marked on the disc or its packaging. Eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate respiratory PPE are required during grinding operations.
