The 3M 7000119213 is a Cubitron II 987C coated fibre disc engineered for medium to heavy-duty grinding, weld grinding, and beveling applications. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, a ceramic abrasive mineral that maintains sharp cutting points throughout the disc life, delivering a high cut rate with reduced grinding pressure. The 5-inch diameter disc is rated to 12000 RPM and backed by a stiff fiber substrate bonded with a high-strength resin system. A built-in grinding aid helps manage heat at the work surface, making it suitable for heat-sensitive alloys. Licensed metalworking shops, fabricators, and weld finishers are the primary users of this disc.
This disc is suited for angle grinder use in industrial fabrication, structural steel work, pressure vessel fabrication, and robotic or pressure-assisted grinding systems. The stiff fiber backing and durable resin bond handle aggressive material removal tasks such as weld seam grinding and edge beveling. It is appropriate for use on carbon steel, stainless steel, and heat-sensitive alloys where temperature control during grinding is a priority. Each disc is sold as a single unit.
Designed for use with standard 5-inch angle grinders and pressure-assisted or robotic grinding systems where a coated fibre disc with a rigid backing is required for heavy material removal.
This disc is installed and serviced by metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with angle grinders. Before mounting, confirm the grinder's rated RPM meets or exceeds the disc RPM rating and that the correct backing pad size is in place. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, fraying, or delamination. Follow applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel safety standards when mounting and operating coated abrasive discs.
