The 3M 7000119212 is a 5-inch ceramic fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and hard-to-grind surfaces. Part of the 987C Series, it features a resinoid bond and a ceramic abrasive grain that self-sharpens under pressure, maintaining consistent cut rates longer than conventional aluminum oxide discs. Rated to 12,000 RPM, it attaches via a threaded arbor hole compatible with the 3M TN Quick Change Backup Pad. Medium grade at 60 grit makes it well suited for blending, stock removal, and surface preparation in metal fabrication and maintenance work.

This disc is used primarily in metal fabrication shops, welding operations, and industrial maintenance environments. Typical applications include weld blending, rust removal, deburring, and surface conditioning on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The orange fiber backing provides rigidity and durability during high-pressure grinding passes. It is installed on angle grinders or disc grinders paired with an appropriate backup pad. Each package contains one disc, sold in a minimum order quantity of 25 units.
