The 3M 7000119205 is a coated abrasive fibre disc in the Cubitron II 982C series, designed for aggressive material removal on carbon steel and similar metals. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, a triangular ceramic mineral that maintains sharp cutting points throughout the disc's life. This geometry allows the disc to cut faster and with less downforce than conventional abrasive discs. At 7 inches in diameter with a 60-grit cut and a maximum speed rating of 8600 RPM, the 982C is built for medium to high-pressure grinding tasks including weld grinding and beveling. Licensed trades and fabrication shops rely on it to reduce disc changeouts and operator fatigue on demanding production lines.
This disc is suited for manual angle grinder use as well as robotic and pressure-assisted grinding systems. The stiff fiber backing and strong resin bond make it appropriate for heavyweight applications such as high-pressure weld grinding, surface conditioning, and edge beveling on carbon steel workpieces. It is sold individually (each) and is intended for professional fabrication, structural steel, and metalworking environments where throughput and disc longevity directly affect labor costs.
Designed for use on carbon steel in manual angle grinder, robotic, and pressure-assisted grinding applications. No specific tool or model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Mounting and disc changes should be performed by qualified personnel with the grinder powered off and unplugged or locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the grinder's free-speed RPM does not exceed the 8600 RPM disc rating before use. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use a disc that shows tears, delamination, or moisture damage. Always use the appropriate guard per the tool manufacturer's instructions and applicable ANSI B7.1 standards.
