The 3M 7000119204 is a Cubitron II 982C coated fiber disc engineered for medium and high-pressure grinding applications on carbon steel. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, a triangular ceramic mineral that maintains sharp cutting points throughout the disc life. This design delivers up to twice the cut rate and disc life compared to conventional ceramic fiber discs while requiring less grinding pressure from the operator. The result is reduced operator fatigue, faster throughput, and more parts completed per disc. At 5 inches in diameter with a 60 grit rating and a maximum speed of 12,000 RPM, this disc suits demanding metal fabrication and weld grinding tasks.
This disc is used in manual angle grinder applications as well as robotic and pressure-assisted grinding systems. It is well suited for weld grinding, beveling, and surface stock removal on carbon steel in industrial fabrication environments. The stiff fiber backing and strong resin bond provide the rigidity and tear resistance needed for aggressive, high-load grinding cycles. Licensed metalworkers, fabricators, and weld technicians regularly specify this disc for production environments where disc longevity and cut consistency are critical.
Designed for use on carbon steel in medium and high-pressure grinding applications including weld grinding and beveling; fits standard 5-inch fiber disc angle grinders and pressure-assisted grinding equipment.
This disc is installed and serviced by metalworkers, fabricators, or trained grinding equipment operators. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing a disc. Verify the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the disc maximum speed rating of 12,000 RPM before operation. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield and gloves, and follow ANSI B11 and applicable OSHA grinding safety standards during all grinding operations.
