The 3M 7000119191 is a coated abrasive belt built on the Cubitron II 984F platform, engineered for demanding metal grinding and finishing applications. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing, a construction that delivers aggressive, consistent stock removal at medium to high contact pressures. The grinding aid built into the bond helps manage heat at the workpiece, reducing the risk of discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracks common when working stainless steel and high-nickel alloys. This belt measures 72 inches in length and 2 inches in width at a 36 grit grade, making it suited to high-removal rough grinding work.
This belt is designed for robotic grinding systems, pressure-assisted belt grinders, and manual contact-wheel applications in fabrication and manufacturing environments. Primary materials of use include stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys where heat management and cut rate directly affect part quality. The extended belt life reduces changeout frequency, lowering downtime in production grinding cells. It is sold individually and commonly stocked in quantity for automated grinding lines where consistent, repeatable performance per belt is critical.
Designed for use on belt grinders and robotic grinding systems accepting a 72-inch by 2-inch abrasive belt, and optimized for grinding stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys at medium to high contact pressures.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified grinding or fabrication personnel with the machine powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation, and confirm the machine is rated for the belt dimensions and operating speed. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear before mounting a new belt, as worn components reduce belt life and cut consistency.
