The 3M 7000118925 is a coated abrasive cloth belt designed for wide belt and edge sanding applications in woodworking environments. Built on a heavyweight cloth backing with an open coat construction, this belt delivers consistent cut performance across both rough stock removal and final finishing passes. The P100 grit aluminum oxide mineral provides a balance of cut rate and abrasive life suited to production sanding demands. Resin bond construction allows the belt to withstand elevated heat and pressure generated during extended sanding runs. The anti-static treatment and open coat layout work together to reduce loading and maintain cut efficiency over the life of the belt.
This belt is intended for use on wide belt sanders and edge sanders in woodworking shops, millwork operations, and production flooring or cabinet environments. The washable cloth backing makes it a practical choice for sanding resinous or pitchy wood species such as pine, where loading is a common problem with standard closed-coat abrasives. The heavyweight backing supports the demands of coarser grit work on wide platens and contact drums without tearing or delaminating under tension.
Designed for use on wide belt sanders and edge sanders accepting belts measuring 75 inches in length by 36 inches in width.
Sanding belt installation and replacement is typically performed by machine operators or shop technicians following the equipment manufacturer's belt-change procedure. Power down and lock out the sander before removing or installing the belt. Verify belt tracking alignment after installation and before running material. Inspect the belt for tears, splice separation, or glazing before each use and replace as needed.
