The 3M 7000118920 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc engineered for aggressive material removal on a variety of surfaces. Built on an X-weight cloth backing, this disc delivers the rigidity and durability needed for demanding grinding and finishing operations. The 40-grit aluminum oxide abrasive provides coarse-grade cutting action, making it well suited for rapid stock removal, weld blending, and surface preparation tasks. Its flexible construction allows it to conform slightly to irregular surfaces while maintaining consistent abrasive contact. This disc is designed for installation by metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians who require reliable performance across repeated use cycles.
This PSA disc is intended for use on benchtop motors, disc sanders, and random orbital sanders in both shop and production environments. The 2-inch diameter makes it a standard fit for small-diameter sanding stations commonly used in precision grinding and deburring operations. The maroon disc color is consistent with the 348D series designation. No vacuum holes are included, making it appropriate for solid backing plates without dust-extraction ports. This product is sold individually (package quantity of 1) with a minimum order quantity of 50 units.
Designed for use with benchtop motors, disc sanders, and random orbital sanders equipped with solid PSA-style backup pads accepting a 2-inch diameter disc.
Installation is performed by pressing the PSA-backed disc firmly onto a clean, dry backup pad — ensure the pad surface is free of debris or residual adhesive before mounting. Power down and disconnect the sander or motor from its power source before changing discs. Confirm the backup pad diameter matches the 2-inch disc before operation to prevent uneven wear or disc separation during use. Follow all applicable workplace safety guidelines and equipment manufacturer recommendations for disc speed ratings.
