The 3M 7000118875 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc designed for fine material removal and surface finishing in professional shop and trade environments. Built on an X-weight cloth backing, the disc delivers firm support and flexibility during use. The abrasive layer uses aluminum oxide grain at 120 grit, placing it in the fine grade range for controlled stock removal and surface prep. At 2 inches in diameter, it mounts directly to PSA-compatible platens without fasteners or clips. Technicians and fabricators working in metal, wood, or composite finishing operations will find this disc suited for high-cycle production and detail work.
This disc is intended for use in light industrial, fabrication, and trade service applications where consistent surface finish and repeatable abrasive performance are required. The 2-inch diameter and PSA mount make it compatible with benchtop motors, disc sanders, and random orbital sanders equipped with PSA platens. The flexible cloth backing conforms to slight contour variations, making it useful in applications where a rigid backing would leave uneven scratch patterns. No vacuum holes are included, so it is best suited for setups that do not rely on dust extraction through the disc.
Compatible with benchtop motors, disc sanders, and random orbital sanders equipped with 2-inch PSA-style platens, as specified by the manufacturer for the 348D series.
Installation is performed by a machinist, fabricator, or trade technician familiar with abrasive tooling. Power down and disconnect the sander or motor from its power source before mounting or removing any abrasive disc. Peel the liner from the PSA backing and press the disc firmly and evenly onto a clean, dry platen to ensure full adhesive contact. Inspect the disc for tears, edge lifting, or contamination before starting the tool.
