The 3M 7000118674 is a coated abrasive belt designed for high-demand stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breakdown and can run wet or dry. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup, making this belt well-suited for heat-sensitive metals including stainless steel. Measuring 264 inches long and 6 inches wide with a 60-grit cut, it is built for production grinding environments where belt life and cut rate directly affect throughput.
This belt is used in fabrication shops, metalworking facilities, and maintenance environments where wide-belt or long-belt machines are in operation. It performs in both dry grinding and wet or lubricated setups. Applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and aggressive stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 60-grit rating positions it as a primary cut belt before transitioning to finer finishing grits. The orange backing is consistent with the 777F product line construction.
Designed for use on wide-belt and long-belt grinding machines that accept a 264-inch by 6-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for metal finishing applications on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Belt installation should be performed with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the machine manufacturer specifications before running. Confirm the arrow or grain-orientation marking on the belt aligns with the intended direction of travel. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear before mounting a new belt.
