The 3M 7000118367 is a Trizact 237AA abrasive belt engineered for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications in industrial and manufacturing environments. It uses 3M proprietary microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh sharp mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable finish quality throughout the life of the belt. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured surfaces without loading or glazing. This belt measures 132 inches in length and 4 inches in width.
This belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing operations ahead of plating or buffing processes. The three-dimensional pyramid structure produces finer, more uniform surface finishes compared to conventional electrostatically coated abrasives, making it a reliable choice for robotic grinding and finishing lines where repeatable surface profiles are required. Metalworking shops, fabrication facilities, and automated finishing operations are the primary use environments. Skilled machine operators and abrasive finishing technicians typically handle installation and belt changes on wide-contact, slack-section, and similar belt grinding machines.
Designed for use on belt grinding and finishing machines that accept 132-inch by 4-inch abrasive belts in metalworking and industrial finishing applications.
Belt changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable LOTO procedures before handling. Verify belt tracking alignment and tension according to the machine manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or separation at the splice before installation. Abrasive belt replacement is typically performed by machine operators or maintenance technicians familiar with the specific finishing equipment.
