The 3M 7000118302 is a 2-inch coated abrasive disc engineered for both stock removal and finishing applications. It combines 3M ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a blended mineral system that self-sharpens during use, delivering a consistent cut rate and extended disc life compared to aluminum oxide alone. The disc uses a heavy polyester backing rated for medium-pressure wet and dry use. A heat-resistant resin bond anchors the abrasive to the backing, maintaining performance under pressure, elevated heat, and water exposure. Licensed HVAC, metal fabrication, and mechanical trades rely on this disc for precision grinding on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This disc is suited for grinding and finishing operations across a range of materials including stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. The integrated grinding aid helps reduce heat buildup during contact, making it appropriate for heat-sensitive alloys where thermal damage to the workpiece is a concern. The 3M Roloc attachment system allows fast, secure disc changes without tools, supporting high-throughput applications in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field service work. The P120 grit classification positions this disc for intermediate finishing where surface prep and fine stock removal are both required.
Designed for use with 3M Roloc-compatible backup pads and right-angle die grinders. Suitable for metal grinding and finishing applications on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder powered off and air supply disconnected. Ensure the backup pad is compatible with the Roloc attachment system before mounting. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive discs. Follow applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels and discs.
