The 3M 7000118278 is a resin-bonded abrasive sheet designed for finish sanding in production and refinishing environments. Each sheet measures 9 inches x 11 inches and carries a P400A grit rating, placing it in the fine-finishing range suited for final material removal, surface prep before topcoat, and light scuff sanding between coats. The gold-colored resinite backing resists loading and provides consistent cut over the life of the sheet. Sheets are sold in sleeves of 50, with cases containing 5 sleeves for a total of 250 sheets. Total package weight is 1.53 pounds. This product is used by body shop technicians, finish carpenters, and industrial painters.
P400A grit is appropriate for final sanding on wood, metal, and composite surfaces before applying primer, sealer, or topcoat finishes. It is commonly used in automotive refinishing for scuff-sanding between coats, in furniture and cabinetry finishing for pre-finish surface preparation, and in light industrial production lines where consistent scratch patterns and surface cleanliness are required. The standard 9 inches x 11 inches sheet size is compatible with hand-sanding blocks and can be cut or folded to suit the application.
Designed for use on wood, metal, primer, and composite surfaces in automotive refinishing, furniture finishing, and light industrial production sanding applications.
This abrasive sheet is used by finish carpenters, automotive refinishers, and painters and requires no special tools beyond a sanding block or hand. Ensure the work surface is clean and free of loose debris before sanding to avoid premature sheet loading. When sanding between coats, allow the previous coat to fully cure per the coating manufacturer's recommendation before abrading. Dispose of used abrasive sheets in accordance with local waste regulations, particularly when sanding lead-containing surfaces or solvent-borne coatings.
