The 3M 7000118195 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc engineered for ultra fine surface finishing on random orbital sanders. Built on a flexible polyester film backing, this 5-inch disc uses aluminum oxide as its cutting mineral, delivering consistent scratch patterns suited to final prep work before coating, painting, or polishing. The orange-colored disc mounts directly to PSA-compatible sander pads without hook-and-loop hardware. Weighing just 0.01 pounds per disc, it is designed for light stock removal and surface refinement rather than aggressive material removal. Finishing technicians, auto body professionals, and woodworkers rely on this disc for consistent ultra fine results across a range of substrates.
This disc is suited for residential shop use, production finishing lines, and field surface prep wherever a random orbital sander is the primary tool. The ultra fine grade makes it appropriate for final sanding passes on painted panels, clear coats, lacquers, and hardwood surfaces prior to topcoat application. The flexible film backing conforms to slightly curved surfaces, reducing the risk of uneven scratch patterns on contoured workpieces. Sold individually, this disc is ordered in multiples of 50 to meet minimum order requirements.
Designed for use with random orbital sanders equipped with 5-inch PSA backing pads. No vacuum hole configuration means this disc is not compatible with sanders that rely on through-disc dust extraction.
Ensure the sander backing pad is clean and free of debris before applying the PSA disc, as contamination reduces adhesion and can cause the disc to release during use. Power down and unplug the sander before mounting or removing any abrasive disc. Apply firm, even pressure across the disc surface when attaching to the backing pad to ensure full adhesive contact. Discard discs that show signs of loading, tearing, or loss of adhesion, as worn abrasives reduce finish quality and can create uneven scratch patterns.
