The 3M 7000090115 is a conformable, self-fusing rubber electrical insulating tape designed for low-voltage insulation and moisture sealing in electrical systems. Sold as the Temflex 2155, this tape bonds to itself without adhesive, creating a tight, waterproof seal around splices and connections. Each roll measures 1.5 inches wide by 22 feet long and weighs 0.65 pounds. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors use it on jobs where insulating and sealing cable splices must meet code requirements for low-voltage applications.
This tape is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where low-voltage splices require reliable insulation and moisture protection. It conforms easily to irregular shapes, making it practical for irregular conductor geometries and tight wiring enclosures. The self-fusing construction eliminates adhesive residue concerns and ensures a uniform dielectric layer over the splice. It is compatible with solid dielectric cable insulations commonly found in standard low-voltage wiring systems.
Compatible with solid dielectric cable insulations. Designed as an OEM-style insulating tape for low-voltage electrical splice and seal applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and verify the circuit is dead before applying tape to any splice or termination. Stretch the tape slightly as it is wrapped to activate self-fusion and ensure a void-free seal. Do not use on energized conductors or in applications exceeding the rated voltage for this tape.
