The 3M 7000059414 is a self-leveling, single-component, neutral-cure elastomeric silicone firestop sealant designed for horizontal applications. Ready to use with no mixing required, it provides up to 3-hour fire protection against the spread of fire, smoke, and noxious gas in tested and listed systems. The light gray formulation also acts as a barrier to water leakage and airborne sound transmission, earning a UL Water Leakage W Rating Class 1 designation and an STC rating of 56 when tested in a compatible wall assembly. Packaged in a 20 fl oz sausage format, it suits jobsite conditions where clean application and multiple penetration seals are required.
This sealant is intended for horizontal firestop penetration seals in floor and deck assemblies where self-leveling performance is needed. It meets requirements under ANSI/UL 1479 for systems tested and listed for fire, smoke, and acoustic performance. It also provides an optional L-Rating smoke seal and meets International Building Code requirements. Typical installers include fire protection contractors, commercial plumbers, and electrical contractors working on through-penetration firestop systems in commercial and multi-family residential construction.
Designed for use in tested and listed through-penetration firestop systems evaluated in accordance with ANSI/UL 1479. Suitable for horizontal firestop applications in systems where self-leveling silicone sealant is specified.
Installation must be performed by a qualified fire protection contractor or licensed tradesperson familiar with through-penetration firestop system requirements. Verify that the specific assembly is tested and listed for the intended penetration type, annular space, and substrate before applying. Follow the applicable listed system design for correct sealant depth and backing material. Consult local building codes and OSHA confined-space guidelines when working in enclosed mechanical chases or floor cavities.
