The 3M 7000059389 is a self-leveling, single-component, neutral-cure elastomeric silicone firestop sealant designed for horizontal penetration sealing in fire-rated assemblies. Ready to use with no mixing required, it provides up to 3-hour protection against the spread of fire, smoke, and noxious gases in tested and listed systems. The light gray sealant also functions as a water leakage barrier and an acoustic seal, making it a multi-purpose solution for trade professionals sealing floor penetrations in commercial and residential construction. It is applied by firestop contractors, plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians working on through-penetration assemblies.
This product is intended for horizontal applications where a self-leveling firestop is required. It is suited for use in floor assemblies where pipe, conduit, cable, or duct penetrations must be sealed to maintain the fire rating of the assembly. The sealant flows into irregular penetration geometries without tooling, which reduces labor time on complex or congested floor penetrations. It meets International Building Code requirements and the intent of LEED VOC environmental regulations, making it appropriate for green building projects as well as standard code-compliance work.
Designed for use in tested and listed through-penetration firestop systems evaluated in accordance with ANSI/UL 1479. Suitable for horizontal floor penetration applications in fire-rated assemblies where a self-leveling silicone firestop sealant is specified.
Installation must be performed by qualified firestop contractors or licensed tradespeople familiar with through-penetration firestop system requirements. Always follow the tested and listed system design for the specific penetration type, substrate, and annular space dimensions. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of oil or loose material before applying sealant. Refer to applicable building codes including the International Building Code and NFPA 101 for inspection and documentation requirements.
