It provides up to 3-hour protection against the spread of fire, smoke, and noxious gas in tested and listed systems. The sealant also functions as a barrier to water leakage and airborne sound transmission, carrying a W Rating Class 1 for water leakage and an STC rating of 56 when tested in a corresponding wall assembly. Supplied in a 10.1 fl oz cartridge, it is ready to use with no mixing required. Licensed HVAC contractors, plumbers, and firestop installers apply this product in commercial and residential construction.
This sealant is formulated for horizontal applications where a self-leveling consistency is needed to fill gaps and penetrations in floor assemblies, decks, and similar horizontal surfaces. It serves as an optional smoke seal for installations requiring an L-Rating. The product meets International Building Code requirements and the intent of LEED VOC environmental regulations. It is listed and tested in accordance with ANSI/UL 1479. Typical users include fire protection contractors, mechanical trades, and general contractors sealing horizontal fire-rated assemblies in both new construction and retrofit projects.
Designed for use in tested and listed firestop systems in accordance with ANSI/UL 1479 for horizontal applications in fire-rated floor and deck assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified firestop installer, licensed mechanical contractor, or similarly credentialed trade professional familiar with applicable building and fire codes. Confirm the joint or penetration assembly matches a tested and listed system configuration before applying. Follow all applicable IBC and local fire code requirements for firestop inspections and documentation. Do not apply over surfaces that are wet, frozen, or contaminated with oil or dust, as adhesion and performance may be compromised.
