The 3M 7000058273 is a translucent white polymer gel formulated to reduce friction during wire and cable pulling operations. Applied directly to the cable jacket before pulling, it produces a low coefficient of friction that reduces the risk of jacket damage caused by high pulling tension. The gel weighs 2.28 pounds per quart container and remains stable across a temperature range of 20 degrees F to 110 degrees F. It does not liquefy, thin out, or separate with heat or cold aging, making it suitable for conduit pulls in both warm and cold environments. Electricians and low-voltage installers use it to protect cable during installation and remove it cleanly before terminating or splicing.
This lubricant is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where wire and cable must be pulled through conduit, raceways, or cable trays. Its thick, non-drip gel consistency allows it to stay in place during application without running off the cable surface. The product ships as individual quart containers, with a minimum order quantity of 12 units per case. It is appropriate for copper and fiber optic cable pulls where jacket integrity and clean termination surfaces are required.
Designed for use as a pulling lubricant on wire and cable installations in conduit, raceways, and cable trays in residential and commercial electrical applications.
This product is applied by licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians during wire and cable installation. Apply the gel evenly to the cable jacket before feeding into conduit or raceway. Work in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for wire fill and pulling tension limits. Keep the product away from termination points and wipe all residue from the cable jacket before making connections or splices.
