The 3M 7000052220 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive nylon loop fastener strip designed for secure, repeatable fastening in indoor environments. Sold in a 2-inch-wide by 50-yard roll, the strip features a high-performance rubber adhesive backing that bonds reliably to a wide range of surfaces including paper, cardboard, paint, bare and painted metal, glass, sealed wood, and many plastics. The engaged thickness ranges from 100 mils to 160 mils, with a 3-mil printed liner and a white polypropylene film liner for clean handling during installation. This is the loop component of a hook-and-loop fastening system, intended for technicians and fabricators who need a field-cuttable, surface-mount fastening solution.
This fastener strip is suited for interior commercial and residential applications where panels, covers, or lightweight components need to be secured and removed repeatedly. Typical use cases include securing access panels, wire management components, display fixtures, insulation facings, and equipment housings. The medium-temperature performance rating makes it appropriate for climate-controlled indoor spaces. It is not rated for outdoor or high-heat environments.
Designed as the loop component for use with a compatible hook fastener strip in standard hook-and-loop fastening assemblies for indoor surface-mount applications.
Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive side of the strip — residual oil, dust, or moisture will reduce bond strength. Peel the liner, position the strip, and apply firm even pressure across the full length to ensure full adhesive contact. Allow adequate dwell time at room temperature before engaging the hook component under load. This product is intended for indoor use only; exposure to outdoor conditions or elevated temperatures beyond the medium-temperature rating may compromise adhesive performance.
