The 3M 7000051896 is a reclosable mechanical fastener tape designed for tool-free bonding and repeated opening and closing in light-duty industrial and commercial applications. The SJ3541 features a rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive backing on a black polypropylene substrate, allowing it to bond to a wide range of surfaces without mechanical fasteners. It delivers 400 stems per square inch and an engaged thickness of 0.23 inches, providing reliable hold while remaining removable. The roll measures 3/4 inches wide by 50 yards long. HVAC technicians, electricians, and panel fabricators use this tape to organize wiring, secure access covers, and mount lightweight components in control cabinets and enclosures.
This fastener tape is rated for indoor use only and performs down to low temperatures with a maximum temperature resistance of 120 degrees F. It is suited for bonding to plastics including acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS, as well as powder-coated paints and low surface energy materials such as polypropylene and polyethylene. Typical applications include securing wire looms, mounting small nameplates or panels, attaching access doors on enclosures, and organizing cable runs inside equipment.
Compatible bonding surfaces include acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, powder-coated paints, polypropylene, and polyethylene. For rated performance, surfaces must be clean and dry prior to application. Indoor use only.
Clean and dry the bonding surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive backing to ensure full contact. Cut tape to length using a utility knife or scissors. Apply firm pressure across the full tape length after placement to activate the adhesive bond. This product is for indoor use only — do not install in environments exposed to moisture, direct sunlight, or temperatures above 120 degrees F.
