The 3M 7000051882 Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener is a two-part mechanical closure system combining MP3541 and MP3542 mating strips. Each strip features 400 interlocking stems per square inch molded from black polypropylene, backed by a rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive for direct surface mounting. The engaged stack thickness is 0.23 inches. Rated for up to 1,000 open-and-close cycles, this fastener delivers repeatable, tool-free attachment in panel, fixture, and equipment enclosure applications. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and panel fabricators use this product to secure lightweight covers, wire management accessories, and interior components without fasteners or hardware.
This fastener is designed for indoor use only and is rated to a low-temperature resistance of up to 120 degrees F. Each roll measures 1 inch wide by 5 yards long. It bonds well to a range of substrates commonly found in trade work, including acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS plastics, powder-coated painted surfaces, and low surface energy materials such as polypropylene and polyethylene. Typical applications include interior panel liner attachment, equipment housing closures, and component retention in enclosed assemblies where screws or rivets are not practical.
Designed for use with many plastics including acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS, as well as powder-coated painted surfaces and low surface energy materials such as polypropylene and polyethylene. MP3541 and MP3542 strips mate to each other as a matched pair system.
Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive-backed strip. Apply firm pressure across the full length of the strip to ensure full adhesive contact. This fastener is rated for indoor use only and should not be installed in wet locations, outdoor enclosures, or areas exposed to temperatures above 120 degrees F. No tools are required for closure engagement or release.
