The 3M 7000050135 is a PTFE-impregnated glass cloth tape designed for high-temperature heat sealing applications. Glass cloth substrate is fully saturated with PTFE and bonded with a silicone adhesive, resulting in a tape that measures 5.3 mil total thickness, 0.75 inches wide, and 36 yards per roll. The combination of PTFE and woven glass cloth delivers high tensile strength, puncture resistance, and abrasion resistance while maintaining a low-friction, chemically resistant release surface. Licensed HVAC technicians, equipment maintenance techs, and industrial service professionals install this tape where repeated heat exposure and easy-release performance are required.
Tape 5451 is engineered for use on heat sealing machines and process equipment where a reliable, long-lasting release surface is critical. It performs well on conveying chutes, troughs, and ducts where product flow must remain smooth and uninterrupted. The high-temperature silicone adhesive holds securely to sealing bars and similar surfaces, including the bar beneath hot-wire plastic film sealing equipment. Suitable for both commercial and industrial environments requiring chemical resistance and low moisture absorption.
Designed for use on heat sealing machines, process equipment sealing bars, conveying chutes, troughs, and ducts where a high-temperature PTFE release surface is required.
Surface should be clean, dry, and free of oils or residues before application. Power down and allow heat sealing equipment to cool completely before replacing worn tape. Trim tape to length with a sharp utility knife or scissors and apply with firm, even pressure to eliminate air pockets. Follow equipment manufacturer guidelines and applicable workplace safety procedures when working near heated components.
