The 3M 7000050062 is a double-linered adhesive transfer tape using 3M 200MP acrylic adhesive, engineered for bonding metals and high surface energy (HSE) plastics in industrial assembly and graphic attachment applications. The tape carries a 5 mil nominal adhesive thickness and delivers excellent shear strength to resist slippage and edge lifting. Two PCK layflat liners at 4.2 mil and 6.2 mil add dimensional stability, virtually eliminating curling, buckling, and rippling during storage, processing, shipping, and application. The adhesive is temporarily repositionable, allowing placement correction before final bond set. Licensed tradespeople and industrial fabricators handling precision die-cut and kiss-cut work will find this tape well-suited to tight-tolerance bonding requirements.
This tape is designed for use in general industrial joining and graphic attachment applications where high shear strength and resistance to solvents and humidity are required. The double PCK liner construction supports high-humidity storage and processing environments. It performs reliably across a range of temperature conditions, making it appropriate for both indoor fabrication settings and assemblies exposed to thermal cycling. Kiss-cutting and selective die-cutting are documented application methods for this tape format.
Designed for bonding applications involving metals and high surface energy plastics; commonly used in graphic attachment and general industrial joining where 200MP acrylic adhesive performance is specified.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean bonding surfaces free of oils, dust, and moisture for best adhesion. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond area after placement to ensure full contact. When die-cutting or kiss-cutting, use appropriate tooling to avoid adhesive contamination of cutting edges. Handle liners carefully in high-humidity conditions to preserve dimensional stability before use.
