The 3M 7000049447 is a double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape designed for demanding bonding applications across trade and industrial environments. At 32 mil thick, it bonds high, medium, and medium/low surface energy substrates without mechanical fasteners. The tape ships as a single roll measuring 46 inches wide by 36 yards long and carries a UL 746C listing. A polyethylene film liner protects the adhesive until installation. The closed-cell acrylic foam construction provides cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance alongside a reliable structural bond.
This tape is suited for applications requiring conformable bonding to irregular or varied surfaces, including panel attachment, gasket replacement, and vibration isolation in HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and general mechanical assemblies. The large-format roll is intended for production or high-volume installation work. Licensed trades and industrial maintenance crews working on metal, painted, or coated substrates will find this an effective alternative to mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives where clean, load-bearing bonds are required.
Designed for bonding high, medium, and medium/low surface energy substrates including metals, painted surfaces, and select plastics in trade and industrial assembly applications.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and degrease the bonding surface before applying tape to achieve full adhesive contact. Apply firm, even pressure across the entire tape surface to activate the pressure-sensitive adhesive. Avoid contact with the adhesive face prior to bonding. Follow applicable facility or job-site safety procedures when working with adhesive tapes in confined or energized equipment areas.
