The 3M 7000049100 is a double coated tape built on a 1 mil clear PET carrier with 3M Adhesive 350 acrylic adhesive on the face side and a 3 mil silicone adhesive on the liner side. This dual-adhesive construction makes it specifically suited for bonding silicone rubber elastomers, silicone foams, and silicone gasketing materials to a wide range of substrates. Each roll measures 3 inches wide and 36 yards long at a total tape thickness of 5.5 mil. HVAC, industrial maintenance, and specialty fabrication technicians rely on this tape where standard acrylic-only tapes fail against silicone surfaces or demanding chemical and temperature environments.
This tape is intended for applications where one bonding surface is a silicone-based material such as silicone rubber sheeting, silicone foam gaskets, or molded silicone components. The acrylic face adhesive grips non-silicone substrates while the silicone liner-side adhesive anchors to silicone surfaces that would otherwise resist conventional pressure-sensitive adhesives. Typical use cases include silicone gasket fabrication, sealing assemblies in HVAC equipment, and industrial bonding where elevated temperature resistance and chemical resistance are required. The double-liner configuration keeps both adhesive surfaces protected until application.
Designed for bonding silicone rubber elastomers, silicone foam, and silicone gasketing materials to a range of non-silicone and silicone substrates in industrial and HVAC fabrication applications.
Surface preparation is critical before applying any pressure-sensitive tape — clean and dry both bonding surfaces thoroughly and remove any oils, dust, or release agents. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape surface to ensure full adhesive contact. For industrial or HVAC assemblies, verify that the tape thickness and adhesive type are compatible with the required temperature range and any chemical exposure expected in service. This product is typically handled by HVAC fabricators, industrial maintenance technicians, or specialty gasket fabricators.
