The 3M 7000048825 is a differential double coated repositionable tape (product family 9415PC) built on a polyester film carrier with a 78 lb polycoated kraft paper liner. One side carries 3M Acrylic Adhesive 400, a high-tack permanent adhesive suited for bonding metals, glass, wood, paper, paint, and many plastics. The opposite side carries 3M Repositionable Acrylic Adhesive 1000, a low-tack adhesive that holds reliably and releases cleanly without leaving residue. The tape is 2 mil thick, comes in a 1 inch wide by 144 yard roll, and offers clarity and UV resistance suitable for window label and display applications. Fabricators, sign makers, and industrial assemblers are the primary installers of this product.
This tape is used in light industrial, commercial, and graphic arts environments where a permanent bond on one side and a clean-release repositionable bond on the other are both required in the same assembly. Typical applications include label mounting, temporary fixture bonding, layered paper and film assemblies, and window graphics where UV stability and optical clarity matter. Adhesive 400 provides short-term heat resistance up to 250 degrees F and performs well in low-temperature conditions. Adhesive 1000 is suited for surfaces where repeated repositioning or final clean removal is necessary.
Designed for bonding similar and dissimilar substrates including metals, glass, wood, paper, painted surfaces, and many plastics where differential tack or repositionability is required in the assembly process.
Surface preparation is critical — substrates should be clean, dry, and free of oils or loose particles before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape width to achieve full adhesive contact. When using the repositionable side for temporary placement, avoid stretching the tape during positioning to maintain liner integrity. No special tools or trade licensing are required, but operators should review the product data sheet for solvent compatibility before use in chemically active environments.
