The 3M 7000048526 is a double coated removable repositionable tape featuring two distinct acrylic adhesive systems on a polycoated kraft paper liner with a UPVC carrier. One side carries Acrylic Adhesive 420, a high-tack acrylic formulation well-suited to plastics and a broad range of surfaces. The opposite side carries Repositionable Acrylic Adhesive 1050, a medium-tack formulation that bonds securely yet releases cleanly without leaving residue. The tape is 1 inch wide, 72 yards long, and 5.8 mil thick. This differential adhesive design makes it a practical solution for assembly, mounting, and temporary bonding tasks in manufacturing, signage, and industrial maintenance environments.
This tape is used in applications where one side requires a permanent or aggressive bond and the other requires clean, repositionable adhesion. Typical uses include attaching graphics, overlays, labels, or foam components where periodic repositioning or final removal without surface damage is required. Adhesive 420 performs in bonding temperatures as low as 32 degrees F and withstands short-term heat exposure up to 300 degrees F. Adhesive 1050 holds to a wide range of surfaces and releases cleanly, making it suitable for both temporary assembly and end-use repositionable mounting applications.
Designed for general industrial bonding and repositionable mounting applications; well-suited for use with plastics and a broad range of substrates where differential adhesion is required.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and dry both bonding surfaces before application for best adhesion results. Apply firm pressure across the full tape area to ensure proper wet-out of both adhesive layers. When using the repositionable side for temporary placement, avoid repeated repositioning cycles that may reduce long-term tack. Remove the liner cleanly and handle the tape by the edges to avoid contaminating the adhesive surfaces.
