The 3M 7000048429 is a double coated tape featuring the 3M High Strength Acrylic Adhesive 300 system on a 0.5 mil clear polyester film (PET) carrier, backed by a 3 mil white densified kraft paper liner. The overall thickness comes in at 6.9 mil, with a usable adhesive film of 3.9 mil. It delivers very high initial adhesion with quick flow-out, good shear holding power, and short-term heat resistance up to 250 degrees F. HVAC, electrical, and general trade fabricators use this tape when a thin, high-tack bond is required without adding bulk. The roll measures 2 inches wide by 36 yards long.
This tape is suited for general-purpose transfer and bonding applications across a variety of substrates where a clear, low-profile double-sided bond is needed. Common applications include panel assembly, component mounting, light-duty fixture bonding, and thin-material lamination in both residential and light commercial settings. Its UV resistance and chemical resistance make it appropriate for use in environments where the bond line may be exposed to cleaning agents or ambient light. Trade installers handling HVAC panels, electrical enclosure liners, or ductwork trim work will find this a practical roll stock to have on hand.
Designed as a general-purpose double coated tape for bonding a wide range of substrates in trade and light industrial applications.
Surface preparation is critical for maximum adhesion — clean, dry, and dust-free substrates will yield the best bond strength. Remove the liner immediately before application and apply firm, even pressure across the tape surface using a roller or squeegee. Power down or de-energize any electrical components before applying tape near live assemblies. This product is intended for bonding and assembly use only and should not be used as an electrical insulation tape.
