The 3M 7000048400 is an adhesive transfer tape using an aggressive acrylic 400 adhesive that bonds on contact to a wide range of substrates. At 2 mil thick, it delivers a thin, clean bond line across metals, glass, wood, paper, paint, and many plastics. The transparent film virtually disappears on clear or light-colored surfaces. This tape is commonly used in commercial print environments for high-speed flying splices and zero-speed splices on most grades of paper, and is well suited for fabrication, assembly, and laminating applications where a strong, residue-free bond is required.
This tape is appropriate for use in light manufacturing, print production, and general industrial assembly. It performs in both manual hand-application workflows and automated high-speed splicing operations. The 60 unbleached densified kraft liner supports consistent, controlled release during both manual and machine-fed processes. Bonds remain stable at temperatures up to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for applications involving moderate heat exposure in commercial and industrial settings.
Designed for use in commercial print splicing applications and general industrial bonding where an acrylic transfer adhesive is required on substrates including metal, glass, wood, paper, and compatible plastics.
Application surface should be clean, dry, and free of oils or contaminants before tape is applied. Firm hand pressure or a roller should be used across the full bond area to ensure full adhesive contact. In splicing applications, follow equipment manufacturer guidelines for tape placement and tension settings. This product is intended for industrial and commercial use by experienced trades or production personnel familiar with adhesive bonding materials.
