The 3M 7000048391 is a linerless, double-coated removable repositionable tape built on a clear UPVC film carrier. It combines two acrylic adhesives: Acrylic Adhesive 400 on one side for strong, permanent-style bonding to a wide range of surfaces, and Repositionable Acrylic Adhesive 1070 on the other for clean, residue-free removal and repositioning. The tape measures 0.75 inches wide by 72 yards long with a 3.8 mil total thickness. It offers short-term heat resistance up to 250 degrees F, medium solvent resistance, and UV-stable clarity, making it well suited for labeling, mounting, and splicing tasks in light industrial and commercial environments.
This tape is designed for applications where one bonding surface requires a strong, lasting hold while the other surface must remain removable or repositionable. Typical uses include window label mounting, paper and film splicing, light-duty material bonding involving metals, glass, wood, paints, and many plastics, and any application requiring differential tack between two substrates. Its clear UPVC carrier preserves visual clarity in label and display applications. Technicians and assemblers working in fabrication, signage, and general maintenance will find it suitable for both indoor and controlled-environment use.
Designed for bonding and labeling applications involving a wide variety of similar and dissimilar materials including metals, glass, wood, papers, paints, and many plastics. Suitable for both high surface energy (HSE) and low surface energy (LSE) substrates at medium adhesion levels.
Clean and dry both bonding surfaces before application to ensure full adhesive contact. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape length to seat the adhesive uniformly. When using on repositionable surfaces, avoid stretching the tape during application to preserve clean-removal performance. Store unused rolls away from direct heat and moisture to maintain adhesive integrity.
