The 3M 7000047210 is a 12-inch non-woven nylon abrasive disc designed for light deburring, surface cleaning, and final finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The disc uses Aluminum Oxide mineral, which cuts sharply and produces a consistent scratch pattern across a wide range of metal substrates. Its high-strength, dense construction resists folding under pressure and maintains stiffness through edgework and irregular surface passes. Fabricators, metalworkers, and finishing technicians use this disc where a uniform, smear-free finish is required before final inspection or coating. Maximum operating speed is 1800 RPM.
This disc is suited for bench-mounted or right-angle grinder setups where consistent surface preparation is needed on flat or contoured metal workpieces. The open web construction resists loading, which reduces debris buildup and extends disc service life compared to closed-coat alternatives. It is well suited for production environments requiring repeatable finish quality on metal parts before painting, plating, or assembly. Three grade options are available within this product line: Coarse for aggressive material removal, Medium for general-purpose finishing, and Very Fine for final pass work and light blending.
Designed for use with grinders and finishing equipment that accept 12-inch non-woven center-hole discs operating at or below 1800 RPM. Suitable for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates.
This disc should be mounted and operated by personnel familiar with abrasive tooling and relevant machine guarding requirements. Verify that the host tool is rated for the disc diameter and does not exceed 1800 RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage prior to each use and ensure the arbor and backing pad are compatible with the center hole size. Always use appropriate eye protection and follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel use.
