The 3M 7000047131 is a convolute deburring wheel designed for medium to heavy precision deburring, blending, and polishing of machined and fabricated parts. The wheel binds an open web of silicon carbide abrasive grain and resin to a fiberglass core, producing a strong, dense structure that delivers sharp cutting action and smooth surface finishes. At 8 inches in diameter and 4.69 inches wide, it is sized for bench grinder and pedestal grinder applications. The wheel weighs 5.54 pounds. Metalworking machinists, tool and die technicians, and fabrication shop personnel are the primary users of this product.
This wheel is well suited for removing medium to heavy burrs from parts with close tolerances, including aluminum die cast flashing and similar precision components. The conformable open-web construction follows part geometry, reducing the risk of gouging or undercutting finished surfaces. The medium to hard density allows the wheel to stand up to edges without breaking down prematurely. It is commonly used in production deburring, edge blending, and light polishing operations on non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals, and engineered plastics in machine shops and manufacturing environments.
Designed for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders accepting an 8-inch diameter convolute wheel arbor configuration. Suited for deburring aluminum die cast, ferrous metal, and non-ferrous metal parts requiring medium to heavy burr removal.
Installation should be performed by qualified metalworking personnel familiar with abrasive wheel mounting procedures. Power down and lockout the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the machine spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the wheel maximum operating speed before use. Always dress the wheel and run it briefly at operating speed behind a guard before presenting workpieces.
