The 3M 7000047087 is a high-strength non-woven nylon abrasive disc designed for light deburring, surface cleaning, and final finishing on metal workpieces. Built with Aluminum Oxide mineral, the disc cuts sharp and produces a consistent scratch pattern across ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The dense, open-web construction resists loading and debris buildup, extending service life in demanding production or fabrication environments. At 5 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch arbor hole, it mounts to standard angle grinders and disc grinders used by metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians.
This disc is suited for applications requiring a uniform, smear-free finish without gouging the base material. The stiff yet flexible open web holds up under high pressure, making it effective on irregular surfaces and edges where softer abrasives fold or fray. It is appropriate for use in light manufacturing, metal fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, and maintenance settings where controlled surface finishing is required. The 7000047087 is part of the Buff and Blend HS line, which offers three grades: Coarse, Medium, and Very Fine, covering a range of aggressiveness and finish requirements.
Designed for use on standard disc grinders and angle grinders accepting a 1/2 inch arbor and 5 inch diameter non-woven abrasive discs. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified operator with the grinder powered off and unplugged or locked out per applicable safety procedures. Verify that the grinder spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the maximum rated speed of the disc before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and replace immediately if tears, fraying, or deformation are observed.
