The 3M 7000046923 is an Aluminum Oxide 800 Series Unitized Wheel built for heavy-duty edge deburring and surface finishing on metal. This hard-density wheel is constructed with an open web design that resists loading and extends abrasive service life. At 6 inches in diameter with a 1 inch arbor hole, it mounts to standard unitized wheel mandrels for use on bench grinders, angle grinders, and similar rotary tools. The aluminum oxide mineral is well suited for work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including stainless steel and aluminum. Fabricators and metalworking trades use this wheel where consistent edge durability and finish quality are required on demanding material removal tasks.
This wheel is designed for heavy-duty edge deburring, stainless steel polishing, and general metal finishing in fabrication and manufacturing environments. The 800 Series targets applications requiring harder wheel density than the 700 Series, providing increased longevity under aggressive use. It runs both clockwise and counterclockwise, giving technicians flexibility when pairing it with different tools and machines. Typical installations include production deburring lines, weld cleanup, and edge preparation for ferrous and non-ferrous metal components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use unitized abrasive wheel for rotary tools and bench machines accepting a 6 inch diameter wheel with a 1 inch arbor, using a compatible unitized wheel mandrel.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety and applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Power down and lock out the tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated speed of the wheel. The unitized wheel mandrel required for mounting is sold separately and must be properly torqued per the mandrel manufacturer specifications.
